A federal mortgage compliance organization is seeking an experienced Federal Real Estate & Title Compliance Paralegal to support ownership and reconveyance functions under a federally regulated mortgage servicing contract.

This position is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and resolving deed, title, and ownership discrepancies related to post-foreclosure conveyance and reconveyance processes. The role ensures compliance with HUD servicing requirements, contractual timelines, and federal documentation standards. This is a high-accountability position requiring strong technical knowledge of real estate documentation and title mechanics.

Ownership & Deed Review:
  • Review recorded foreclosure deeds, trustee deeds, warranty deeds, quit claim deeds, and corrective instruments.
  • Analyze vesting language, legal descriptions, and chain-of-title continuity.
  • Identify recording defects, title gaps, and conveyance inconsistencies.
Reconveyance & Corrective Instruments:
  • Prepare and coordinate corrective deeds and curative documentation.
  • Work with mortgage servicers, foreclosure counsel, title companies, and county recording offices.
  • Track reconveyance timelines to ensure compliance with federal servicing requirements.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Maintain audit-ready files in accordance with federal mortgage servicing guidelines.
  • Ensure all ownership actions comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor aging cases and escalate non-compliance risks.
Discrepancy Resolution:
  • Investigate ownership conflicts, grantee errors, improper legal descriptions, and recording jurisdiction issues.
  • Coordinate with internal claims and compliance teams when ownership impacts financial determinations.
  • Draft formal correspondence to stakeholders and regulatory contacts.
Case Management & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed ownership tracking logs.
  • Provide case status updates to management.
  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of real estate paralegal, title examination, foreclosure documentation, or mortgage servicing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of deed preparation, title review, and recording requirements.
  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads with strict deadlines
